Reflexology

Works on the premise that the body is mirrored on the feet, hands & ears.

About

Reflexology is a particular form of massage which involves applying specific thumb and finger techniques to the reflex areas positioned on the feet, hands and/or ears.

This therapy dates back to the Egyptian times (there is even evidence of tomb drawings from 2000BC).

Accessing the whole body through reflexes encourages the body’s innate ability to heal. The nature of modern society lends itself beautifully to reflexology as the practise is deeply relaxing and restorative. Reflexology compliments naturopathy and other modalities of healing due to its gentle and noninvasive nature.

What to expect

Your treatment begins with a short consultation to understand your health concern(s), goals and medical history (to determine whether the treatment is safe for you).

The treatment is undertaken on a massage table, where you remain fully clothed- asides from removing your socks and shoes.

Once comfortable on the table, your feet will be cleansed with a hydrosol (a water-based distillation of plant material). This is your opportunity to completely switch off from the outside world and relax.

Foot relaxation techniques are carried out on both feet followed by a reflexology sequence that takes into account your needs and goals. Treatment concludes with more relaxation techniques (these gently awaken anyone who has drifted to sleep).

Once more alert, the findings from your treatment are discussed and recommendations are provided (this often involves self-treatment of specific hand reflexes).

Please note: reflexology does not replace conventional medicine. Reflexologists do not diagnose or claim to cure.

Experience a deep feeling of relaxation through the whole body.
